Turning Wood Waste into Valuable Resources is a lecture by Goran Milic, professor at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Forestry, Department of Wood Science and Technology. An expert in sustainable wood processing and hydrothermal treatments, Professor Milić explores innovative approaches to reducing waste in the wood industry. In his talk, he highlights the potential of wood steaming condensate as a sustainable natural dye for use in industrial textile production.

This Edu Talk, part of the 2025 Mikser Festival in Belgrade, is featured in the Next Gen Design Edu Talks series. Next Gen Design is a three-year initiative promoting green and sustainable design within the European design sector, especially among young designers, supporting the European Green Deal. The program involves collaborations between five key design platforms and festivals: Skopje Design Week (Public Room), Mikser Festival from Belgrade (Mikser), designaustria, What Design Can Do from Amsterdam, and Barcelona Design Week (Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation), with support from the European Commission.
