NEXT GEN DESIGN by David Jablonski
Edu Talk: NEXT GEN DESIGN is a talk by David Jablonski, activist, designer and co-founder of the Climate Visualisation Collective Klimadashboard.org, Austria. In addition to being one of the speakers at the Next Gen Design Mikser 2025 edition Edu Talks, David was also one of the jury members of the Next Gen Design Open Call 2025. In his talk, David Jablonski explores his design practice, highlighting how he has shifted away from the purely aesthetic aspect of design. He emphasises the importance of interdisciplinarity and stepping out of one’s comfort zone as essential elements for NEXT GEN DESIGN. He also makes it clear that design is not neutral, but that it always has an impact.
This Edu Talk, part of the 2025 Mikser Festival in Belgrade, is featured in the Next Gen Design Edu Talks series. Next Gen Design is a three-year initiative promoting green and sustainable design within the European design sector, especially among young designers, supporting the European Green Deal. The program involves collaborations between five key design platforms and festivals: Skopje Design Week (Public Room), Mikser Festival from Belgrade (Mikser), designaustria, What Design Can Do from Amsterdam, and Barcelona Design Week (Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation), with support from the European Commission.
