Design a Flag for a Human Future: The International Flag of Planet Earth is the Edu Talk by Oskar Pernefeldt, creative director at Oatly and president of International Flag of Planet Earth Org. During his speech, Oskar highlighted the role of symbols as a way to bring about a change of perspective that can influence human behavior. The flag itself is a symbol of the Earth and an important reminder that we share this planet with all its challenges and possibilities. The flag serves as an important reminder to the citizens of Earth that we should take care of each other and the planet we live on.
This Edu Talk, part of the 2024 Barcelona Design Week, is featured in the Next Gen Design Edu Talks series. Next Gen Design is a three-year initiative promoting green and sustainable design within the European design sector, especially among young designers, supporting the European Green Deal. The program involves collaborations between five key design platforms and festivals: Skopje Design Week (Public Room), Mikser Festival from Belgrade (Mikser), designaustria, What Design Can Do from Amsterdam, and Barcelona Design Week (Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation), with support from the European Commission.
